These overruns may vary in nature. Some are due to increased, direct and indirect, costs associated with delays in construction progress.
Others arise from additional general expenses, resulting from contractor’s inability to certify the amounts included in their original bid. Lastly, there are overruns linked to temporary, (partial, or total) suspensions of work, all of which result in delays beyond the timelines proposed by the contractor.
